Two cottages joined together by a ribbon of glass

Literally hidden in center of a sprawling block studded with multimillion-dollar homes sits this renovated Victorian asking a cool $2.5 million.

Redone in 2014 by award-winning design firm Messana O’Rorke, 2454 A Bush—a stealth Victorian found behind a “secret entrance,” according to the listing—is made up of two circa-1856 cottages.

It comes with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an interior look that startles with contemporary abandon. New additions include floor-to-ceiling glass doors, which highlight the verdant yard and garden; custom built-in cabinets; grey stone floors; and gas fireplace.

The living room punctuated by floor-to-ceiling window doors.

The kitchen now bears a glass wall and a glass ceiling, all of which compliment the stark white marble counters and lacquered cabinets. Speaking of which, the rest of the home benefits from bright white interiors as well, helping to offset the dearth direct natural sunlight. (All the better; privacy is priceless.)

Purists will predictably wince at seeing a Victorian stripped of its original pageantry. They always do. But this concealed abode is a thing of beauty, lack of crown moldings and ceiling medallions be damned.

The listing is through Deborah Nguyen or Vangaurd Properties.
